Our Craftsmanship Standard

At TRM WoodCraft, we take immense pride in each unique piece of solid furniture we offer. Crafted and professionally, our furniture is built with solid wood, distressed for a reclaimed look.

Given the handmade and hand-finished nature of my products, it's important to anticipate and embrace variations and imperfections in the wood. Just as every tree is unique, so too is every piece of furniture crafted and finished by hand, exclusively for you.

Wood & Stain Variations

Wood and stain variations are natural occurrences due to the individual grain patterns. While we strive to use the correct stain or paint color as per your request, slight variations from expectations may occur. It's important to understand that we cannot guarantee a perfect match, as every piece of wood behaves uniquely during staining.

Matching Stain Colors

While we don't match stain colors from photos, we are happy to create a custom stain color if provided with the stain or a sample piece for reference. However, variations should be expected, as different wood types absorb stain differently, resulting in subtle differences in color.

Sanding & Stain Colors

The level of sanding and distressing impacts the final stain color. Finely finished surfaces tend to yield lighter stains, while distressed surfaces absorb stain more deeply, resulting in darker tones. It's essential to note that ordering a finely finished table based on a photo of a heavily distressed one may result in differences in the final appearance of the stain.

Variations In Wood

Handcrafted, solid wood furniture bears unique characteristics such as open knots, brush strokes, and imperfections, which add to its charm and authenticity. Additionally, wood naturally expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity, resulting in minor variations in dimensions and appearance over time.

We allow up to approximately 1" of variation across all measurements due to the custom nature of the handcrafted furniture we build.

Those who do not value the natural variations and imperfections inherent in handcrafted furniture should NOT purchase Handmade furniture.

Solid wood has the tendency to expand and contract in response to fluctuations in temperature and humidity.

As seasonal changes occur, you may notice slight gaps between the boards on your table, up to 1/8”, as wood absorbs and releases moisture. Additionally, minor movements in length, width, or thickness, as well as slight bowing or flexing of the tabletop, are common occurrences due to the inherent nature of wood.

The presence of open knots on jointed tabletops is a testament to the authenticity of solid wood furniture, emphasizing its handcrafted quality. Unlike machine-manufactured pieces, each item from TRM WoodCraft is uniquely crafted to your specifications, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike.

We embrace the genuine uniqueness of every piece of solid wood furniture crafted and finished by hand in our wood shop, and it is our sincere hope that you will appreciate and cherish these distinctive characteristics as much as we do.

Lead Times

Lead times provided are estimates, as production delays or expedited orders may affect delivery schedules. While I strive to ensure timely delivery, quality standards take precedence over strict timelines. Hence, specific delivery dates cannot be guaranteed, particularly for special occasions.

We celebrate the true uniqueness of every piece of solid wood furniture crafted in our wood shop, and it's our hope that you'll cherish these distinctive characteristics as much as we do.
